en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_warAnyone notice this before? The example used in the article of Red Hot Chili Peppers is something I have noticed. When I installed one of those tragic sound systems in my car when I was in highschool I played Chili Willies a lot and depending from which CD it was sourced (I had greatest hits and Blood Suger Sex Magik), the bass was intensely different. Just seeing it graphed there makes you feel all . And if Bob Dylan doesn't like it, there isn't much to like about it at all, tbh.

It's really annoying if I have my entire library on shuffle and what is a pleasant volume for one song is deafening for another. Also really annoying if they're aiming for loud but they go overboard and it just clips horribly. (Death Magnetic springs to mind)

I see what you guys mean with Death Magnetic, I just put a playlist together from their setlist from the show I got home from then, and all the DM tracks are so much more abrasive than their older stuff.
